Who are we?

Colours of Compassion is not what you might expect when you think of an art exhibition… This event is a celebration of the importance of expression through art for our wellbeing. We will be exploring how creativity and co-creation can innovate self-reflection and expression. We believe creativity and living go hand in hand. Art is influenced by emotions, and we use art to express these emotions. Through Colours of Compassion, attendees will not only be invited to view such pieces in our exhibition but to be the art and become artists themselves.

What should you expect?

Our exhibition will feature artwork from independent artists from our very own KCL Art Society and fellow students from UAL and Goldsmiths. These pieces will follow the theme of art as a form of reflective self-expression and include testimonies from the artists on the introspective journey of creating their pieces. We hope to shine a light on the benefits of art for our mental wellbeing and its healing, therapeutic nature. There will also be a few interactive pieces in which attendees will be invited to contribute and make their mark.

We will also host workshop activities such as collaborative collage making, and gratitude card making, as well as the chance to design your own journal and learn a few ways to utilise journaling. While it is yet to be confirmed, we hope to have a guided art therapy session with a licenced art therapist as well. We welcome you to come & get immersed in the world of art & expression!!
